8 months old and not laying

Hi everyone,

I am new to raising chickens. I have a 6x6x12 coop/run and starting with 3 chickens 3 RR and Plymouth Rock. They are all approximately 7 to 8 months old. 2 ( 1 RR and BR) have started laying and the 2nd Red hasn't laid any eggs. she will sometimes sit in the nesting box box does not lay. her comb and wattles are all deep red but still short. She seems healthy. Runs, flies, and seems to eat everything in front of her. I thought she might be laying eggs outside as they are out a lot but have never seen eggs around any of the Hibiscus bushes they stay cool under. Is this normal?

Do you know for certain that the 3rs bird hasn't laid? Pictures would help

Oh that’s fine, there’s no set time for chicken gals to start laying, sometimes if she waits long enough, and the breed stops laying for the winter, than she won’t start laying until the next spring. 7-8 months is just a little above the norm.
