Hi,
I have an 8 week old buff Brama Bantam that was being bullied by some other larger chickens. I noticed it to late I"m sorry to say and now it's so weak it cannot stand up. It was being bullied away from the food by the same age Americauna chicks, but they're just being mean all of a sudden. I put her in a seperate box for now. I'm feeding her a nutritional supplement, i forget the name off hand but it looks like iodine. I'm also giving her the sav-a-chic electrolyte solution in water. She won't eat in front of me so I'm using a medicine dropper to feed her that way. She mostly lays there like she's sleeping. She will now chirp a little when i move her and crawl about to eat the food, water and egg yolk I put in the box, but she still can't stand up. Is there anything else I can do? I feel so bad I noticed it so late.
Do you think she will re bound or have permanent damage from this? I noticed about 8 last night, and have fed her then, at 11, at 4am, 6am and 730 am.

sounds like your doing everything you can to help her. my thoughts and prayers are with you! hopefully she will come around as she gets her strength up. I have a bird that's bullied also and I try my best to feed her separate but she's still on the light side. I know how you feel its very frustrating when they bully each other! I think once she gets her strength back up she will be better. your doing the right thing! I really hope she improves soon! I wish you the best! hugs for you! (((())))

Sometimes they're weak prior to being bullied-easy target. Try feeding chicken feed mush. Or scrambled egg.

I think that treating for coccidiosis is not out of the question. Dribble the treatment on the side of her beak and hopefully she will start licking at it.

If not, there's not much else to do that you're doing now.

I've been feeding her hard boiled egg yolk and she's eating that a little on her own. She is still about the same as yesterday. The thing that bothers me the most is her legs are lame. She has no strength in them at all. I noticed today she seems to be breathing through her mouth? This seems weird to me for a chicken. What would I treat coccidiosis with? Only my second year with chickens and still learning. Thanks for the help and advice:)

Yes, you are doing everything you can.

* My Frizzle Rooster had the same problem as a chick. I kept him separated from the others. I used a eye dropper, to give him water. Barely squeezed it - 1/2 a drop at a time. And as for feed, mixed a lil water & scratch, and used a small srynge (so?) to feed him. It took almost a week to perk him up. Did this for about 2 weeks and he's now almost 11 months. His 1 foot is a lil twisted but he gets around fine. Even meets us at the Coop Door for meals. Hand handled has made him a sweet boy. :) *

Well, se seems to be perking up a little and I'm still feeding her with the syringe. I did start meds for the coccidiosis today to rule that out so we'll see. Thanks for all the kind thoughts and advice:)
