8 week old OE - cockerel or pullet?

The dot doesn't necessarily mean boy. Also olive eggers are mutts, not a breed. So whether or not they are sexlinking would depend on the cross.

Right, I know OEs are not a breed. But since this particular OE seems to be a cross (I’m guessing cuckoo Marans) with the barring gene, I wonder if the F1s would retain that sex linking trait.

8 weeks only? My gut thinks boy, but that is just a guess- I don’t see any super obvious signs. Either way that is one good looking bird!!( and I am unfamiliar with sexing using the barred gene stuff)

thanks! Yup, only 8 weeks. Biiiig bird haha!
Blue loves to perch on my shoulder — getting a little big for it but she still wants to perch there!

I’m going with pullet, too. Do you happen to know the two breeds of the parents? Here are images of my two OEs (one roo, one pullet) at 8 weeks, if this helps. They had Cream Legbar and Cuckoo Marans parents. As you can see, it’s obvious Eddie is a boy :p .
Oh, and they never think they’re too big to sit on your shoulder. My full grown Buff Orpington roo will still sit up there when given the chance :lau .
