I have 4, 8 week old Nankins. One roo. They all get along, don't chase or peck each other out of the way..they just run together. So, when I heard a noise that I hadn't heard come from my Nankins before, I look to see the roo on top of one of the little girls..isn't this a bit too early for that guy to be feeling his..ah hem..oats?? He hasn't even crowed yet! Boy, was that little gal surprised!

I have hundreds of chickens and what you saw is not uncommon just like the roos play fighting, they can put on a good showto be so little

So you don't think he was actually trying something? I do see them do the bump each other play. Just haven't ever seen them look like they are in practice for being daddy so soon.

Oh well, will see if it happens again.

Ahh, ok, as we all know..practice makes perfect. I always did wonder how they could do that so fast and actually make a chicken fertile!

I understand some are more gentle than others, I've seen some pretty sorry looking hens..I hope this guy is a nice roo.
