80 chickens that aren't laying a single egg :/

we have about 80 free range chickens some of them are old but most of them arent that old (within their first year of laying)... all of a sudden they all stopped laying we have treated them for mites and wormed them... any ideas of what could be happening?

You've verified that no laying is being hidden, I assume. The easiest way to verify is to contain them for 3 or 4 days.

no eggsa are being hidden and we have had quite a few younger chickens die ..?

they just all go feathered up and stand by themselves xx

What is the weather like where you live? What kind of chickens are doing this? The only time I ever heard of this happening is a man who was raising broiler chickens when the weather got over 100 degrees and the hybred red broilers died from heat and lack of water because they could not walk 10 feet to drink cool water. Are they eating? Are they all the same breed? Could you possible give a little more info?

Welcome to the forum! Glad you joined us but I wish it were under better circumstances.

It sure sounds like a disease or possibly poisoning of some type. More info would help. Have you brought in any news chickens over the past few weeks or somehow exposed then to new chickens? How old are the ones that are dying? Are they young brooder raised chicks just hitting the ground for the frst time or are they established members of your flock? Did they lay weird or funny shaped eggs before they stopped? Have they eaten moldy feed? Has something significant changed about the way you feed or water them? Is something weird about their poop?

I'm assuming you treated them for worms and mites after they started acting sick. If not, how did you treat them?

we have hybrid chickens for laying the weather changes constantly here but its never affected us before... they are all eating and drinking.. they are all the same breed apart from the odd few and we took the cockerel away from the hens about a month ago

we have had new chickens but they seem alright in themselves its just no eggs.. we treated them with spot on and chicken wormer for the worms.. we have all different aged chickens some are very young and some are point of lay and some are older than that...
