8th-annual-byc-new-years-day-2017-hatch-a-long

Even if the last three don't hatch, it's my most successful hatch this year. Out of 15 fertile eggs, 14 made it to lock down. 10 are hatched and healthy, 3 more pipped.
Thats with the incuview? Thats good! Are your hatches in it usually that successful? Is it pretty easy to operate and get temp/humidity stable?

Ive seriously been considering one, been torn between buying incuview or brinsea for along time now. I liked that incuview had the turner for same price as brinsea without one and I like the large viewer but I also wanted to see how successful peoples hatches where prior to deciding.

Embryo movement, day 8. This is after my power outage scare.

Same thing happened to me yesterday, outage for almost 3 hrs with over 100 eggs on my sportsman outside in the carport with temp on upper 30's.....gonna candle tonight to see if any damage was done. Temp on bator went down to 78 until power came back.

Keeping my fingers crossed and sending positive thoughts your way!

x2! Good luck

Very easy to use, and I usually have about 60 to 90 percent hatch rate. Usually, if an egg is fertile, it will hatch, unless I seriously screw something up. I've been experimenting this year with humidity levels to figure out what will get the best hatch. So far, 35 to 45 is my sweet spot. Fertility has been a problem this fall, my rooster was molting and my cockerel was having trouble hitting the mark. I choose the Incuview over the brinsea mostly because of cost. The Incuview offers all the bells and whistles of the brinsea at a fraction of the price, plus you can't beat the customer service at Incubator Warehouse. Replacing parts, should something break, is very easy. And it's very easy to clean. Just a quick wipe down with a Clorex wipe and it's ready to go again.

Awesome! Can the egg trays be removed during incubation? And if so do you think it would be deep enough to hatch a few (4) emu eggs? They are rather large, but Ive heard some people have hatched them in the regular sized Genesis bators. Thats what im hatching next.

The turning tray comes right out. You don't even need to disconnect the turner. The arm will spin around, but it doesn't impede anything. The bigger issue with emu eggs would be come hatching time. There is only about six inches between the bottom of the fan housing and the floor of the incubator. You would have to watch carefully to make sure that a chick doesn't get stuck under there.

OK Thanks! Great info!

You probably didn't add enough water initially.

I agree with this lol. I added 1/4 cup of water to the center this morning and it raised the humidity back up to 46% before I had to leave. My husband had to add water today around 3PM or so as it had gotten down to about 29%. It seems to be hovering around 38-40% for now, fluctuating a little since I got home about an hour or so ago. We'll see how long before we have to add water again.

I'm also using the IncuView and even though I'm having some humidity "struggles," I really think it's due to my own learning curve with incubating than anything. Incubator Warehouse had a cyber sale from Black Friday to Cyber Monday so I got their premier package for 20% off :) I love the view and also agree that their customer support is excellent!
