Thank you!!! We couldn't wait anymore so we put them in the bator, lol!! It was agonizing to wait, and now that excitement is over and we have to wait 21 days!!!

But hopefully it'll be a fun and educational experience for my kids (and me!) and we'll get some cute, fluffy babies for our troubles!! This is fun already!!

Great idea Penny, I probably would have done just that if I still had kids home. I had one home when I started it, but he wasn't interested in them....like me.

DH has come around, quite a bit!

Oh, I am. I've been hooked on the idea of incubating since I found out you could do it, lol. I'm sooooo excited!!!

That's the plan. My oldest daughter is six and she loves them. My son is five and we're getting him to come around, lol. My youngest girl is just a year old, so she doesn't get it yet, but me and big sis are starting her early

lol. I really want to start them in 4H which is why they'll be responsible for these new babies and anymore we hatch this spring. I plan on getting them entered in the country fair this coming summer with their own chickens they raised. Exciting stuff!!! I'm so proud of them for being animal lovers...they're my favorite kind of people!

You sound just like me! Be prepared to be TOTALLY addicted... I hatched out 2 (out of 8 eggs

). Today, I picked up 8 more babies from Penny1960 that hatched out yesterday (same flock that my 2 came from). PLUS, she sent me home with 6 eggs for the NY Hatch Along! Originally a friend was supposed to take some, but she has backed out. SO... Guess I will have a full flock! Of course, I won't be able to keep any roos, so that will decrease my number I am sure. The coop she and her best friend are building me has now gone from a 6x8 to an 8x10 I think!

SO, beware of the dreaded CHICKEN MATH!!!

That chicken math will definitely getcha LOL! I went to add one to the flock and ended up with 6+1 = 11

OMG, YASSSS!!!! I started with four, then added 1, so let's see.... 4 + 1 = 21...yeah, that's how it went. And now it'll be more like 30!!! Still not enough!!

Ugh! I can't sleep! It's 1am here,but I'm afraid if I fall asleep the temp or humidity will shoot up or plummet and all my babies will die. I'm a nervous wreck already! This hatch may very well kill me!!
