Candle them... look for internal pips and movement... or for DIS, clear space between the embryo and air cell...
Yes! Look for signs of life.

What if there are still veins in that clearish space? I'm leaving the incubator on tonight anyway, since there's a new chick in there (the new pip zipped and hatched while I was busy, just like all its siblings. It's a conspiracy, I tell ya!) but still...
Do you see it moving? Hear cheeping? You should see the head inside the air cell.
The UofA Blues hatch over three days. That will drive you crazy! Normally breeds hatch over 24 hours.

Well my last few hatched last night my total is 19/20 chicks hatched and 5/11 ducks im a little disapointed on my hatch rate for my ducks all were moving on lockdown then seems they didnt obserb the yolks and drowned

Still waiting.......maybe too much negativity around me on hatching these eggs out. They don't understand why I want baby chicks at New Years?
I have three roosters from last years hatch in need of hens! One Gold Brahma, One La Bresse, and one looks like a French Copper Maran.
I'm giving the Gold Brahma rooster away this week.
They're lonely and it bothers me. Silly me, plus I need a fresh organic egg supply!

I am hoping for you!

Happy new year everyone. I need some advise. I had 1 chick hatch but it had unabaorbed intestine and died. I have 2 egg's remaining, it is day 23 early and i float tested these 2 and they wiggled like crazy. I candled but do not see internal peep's. I am worried they may be malpositioned though one still has veining at the bottom. Any advise? Should I make a hole in the air cell, should I wait? I dont want to lose these littles if I can help them.

I have 13 turkey eggs and 3 duck eggs in my bator. Sun was 3 weeks... I'm pretty sure the turkeys are duds. :( but the ducks look like they are all developing, but they look like they are kind of small... do there grow a lot the last week?

Oh my goodness! We got snow! We got a phone call early this morning, just as I was getting up. They said not to go out unless you have 4 wheel drive. Same time my husband was on the phone listening to the message..his cell phone rings. It's his brother, he calls back. He's stuck in the parking lot of his wife's work. We have a small dodge truck with 4 wheel drive. He's out helping him now. This is unreal, the most snow we've had in years...and it's supposed to keep snowing until Friday! Our freeway is even closed.
Well, out to shovel paths.
My husband did get up early with our old dog to let out. He wasn't really paying attention .. just thought, wow, we got a lot of snow. Looked down in time to see our poor old Ziggy, a Shcnoodle..disappear under the snow as he jumped off the porch. DH hurrys and gets him, then gets a broom for a quick fix for the dog
