Below are pics of Curly, who was hatched on August 3rd and acquired by us from the hatchery on August 5th. Curly was a gift from the hatchery owner to our little nephew, who went with me to pick up 3 day-old Lavender Orpington chicks and 3 day-old Silver Laced Black Wyandotte pullets. Our nephew was thrilled to get Curly, who will be living with us since chickens are not allowed where he lives.
Looking at Curly's comb we are leaning toward Curly being a pullet as it is still yellow (no red at all), very small and has a single row of peas. However, then we look at Curly's tail feathers and think, "hmmm....."
Either way, Curly has a lifetime home with us, but we and our nephew are dying of curiosity and would appreciate your opinions. Thanks so much!
