9 week old Ameraucana and Easter Egger: Roos or hens?

I'm not sure about Muffy. As others have said it is sending out mixed signals. My gut is that it is also a cockerel from the width of the comb and I may be mistaken but I think I am seeing darker colour red coming in on the wing bars which is usually a male trait and those seriously chunky shanks.
Do be aware that friendly cockerels at this stage can grow into disrespectful and or aggressive adolescents once their hormones kick in, especially if they are brought up with no older generation of chickens to teach them manners. Handling them too much can lead to them becoming overly familiar with people and sometimes encourage them to challenge you as they get older.

Please keep in mind standoffish cockerels are every bit as likely to become aggressive later on. :) Beekissed's article promotes upholding a "dominant rooster" attitude towards your young men, which can have highly damaging effects once maturity hits. Keep in mind, "dominant roosters" are always challenged by their subordinates at some point, because the pecking order is highly fluid in nature. If you act like a rooster, your cockerels are going to treat you like one. For this reason, it's best to avoid becoming a part of the pecking order. I advocate for loving your boys, cuddling and hand-feeding included. Neither behavior simulates that of another rooster, and implants positive association.

Some of the roo-raising experts, namely centrarchid and Shadrach, can be found on this thread. Neither adhere to the typical methods, for logical reasons. Please consider their immense wisdom and experience with molding young cockerels into trustworthy gentlemen.
