I'm new to chickens. 8 weeks ago we got 8 more chicks at Rural King to add to our original 4 hens that are now 6 months old. 3 of the 8 were sold as Americanas (sp?), however I'm guessing that means they are really EE?? One of the 3 started as lighter in color and has now changed to be predominately white. She/he stands up more straight and tall, and the comb is already red.
After tons of late night research, I'm certain it's a cockerel- but I want confirmation please!

Please bear with me as this is my first time uploading pics! Hope this works. Below is a pic of the chick in question when we got it. AND it does not like to be picked up and fights it like the devil - hence why I couldn't get a good shot of the head above. Resized_20170410_195418001.jpeg

At eight weeks I'd say that's a cockerel. I have one that looks almost the same (started out the same color too) and yes, EEs.

Thanks! I'm actually a little happy to have a rooster to help protect the ladies. And ironically, my daughter insisted on naming this group of chicks after the Kardashians - so instead of a "North", we apparently have a Bruce or Caitlyn! Lol :lol:
