911 GOSLINGS DELAYED IN SHIPMENT - very weak

I would totally agree with you, never less than three We already have several ducks and Sebastopol geese so when they’re ready to move out of the brooder and be introduced, there is quite the flock waiting for them. This little one was so upset alone, I knew I had to get her a brooder buddy fast. In the future, if I get more geese or ducks, I will probably get three knowing if something happened, the surviving babies would have each other.

Come to think of it, this is the kind of bird math thinking that got us into having 5 dogs... 😏

That’s when I ordered as well. I have a friend expecting chicks the first week of May and I told her to not risk it. Honestly, my advice to anyone now is to cancel. This week I also I had chicks that did arrive on time, but out of 8, 3 died by noon. The post office is not handling these birds the way they have in past years. I don’t think I’ll ever order by mail ever again. 3 chicks dead within hours, 2 ducklings dead on arrival and and a gosling that couldn’t survive. I couldn’t live with myself if it happened again.
I don’t mind ordering by mail because it’s always been successful, and I’m hopeful that continues to be the case. I really hope my ducklings come in safe and happy because I’ve been really looking forward to starting a duck flock this year.

Ahh that makes sense. I suggested that assuming you didn’t have birds yet.
