911 I need answers now!!!😭😭😭

View attachment 2358916This is the inside of the brooder, they shouldn’t have overheated we have had a early cool snap. I’m thinking it was probably coccidia but it’s poop wasn’t bloody. When our dog got it, it was terrible that is the most worst disease your pets could get. We watched our sweet baby girl just wither away and no matter how much fluids and food we had to force her to eat she just didn’t get better... so I am familiar and the chick had all the classic symptoms except the bloody poop. I just cleaned their water container really good.
That’s a wonderful set up, large and roomy not to right. Where is their source of heat and water and food? I assume it’s on the other side we can’t see but I’d like to see what you use as a heat lamp.
It was probably to cold and this caused it to get sick and die. Please show us their heat source since you said it is chilly and it appears to be an outdoor brooder. Indoor brooders are a far safer option for the Coker months

There are other strains of coccidiosis that do not present with blood in poop, so that's still a possibility. Can you share some pic of poop? How old are they? What do you feed them (feed, treats, etc)? How are the others acting? I'm so sorry that you have lost a bird. My heart breaks for you

How old are they? Do they still have a heat lamp especially with the cold snap?
They hatched September 1 and 2, no I don’t but I will get something set up right away.
Dying birds frequently pass feces, and if bird was chilled and not eating this might be a result.
That might indeed be the problem, as bad as it sounds I hope it was just chilled, I don’t know what I would do if it was coccidia! I was so excited about this batch of eggs because it was ā€œexoticā€ chickens, to me at least.

I’ve never heard of other types of cocci but that is a good thought.

One of my baby bantams has just had a seizure type thing, it is dripping clear whitish slimy stuff out of its butt and I think it is dead now... when I discovered it, it was still acting alive but it was cold and stiff but it was still blinking its eyes and moving it’s beak. Now it’s doing nothing!!😢😭 It is one of my first babies that hatched out of my last batch of eggs and I’m so devastated!! I was wondering if it’s coccidia?? I have no clue as to why it has done this! We haven’t had any problems with our chicks like this and we have only had one experience with coccidia and that was with a dog!

So sorry about your loss, we had a very similar thing happen with one of our chicks about a month ago... it was about 3 days old and white stuff was coming out of its mouth then it went stiff. Fortunately, none of our other chicks were affected by getting sick. I hope this helps.
I hope it is nothing contagious!

Oh they NEED a heat lamp especially with the cold snap and them not even being fully feathered, they should not be outside without a heat source until they are 8 weeks old (I say 8 weeks for cool chilly months)

When you say cold snap, how cold of a snap? What state are you from? WI just had a cold snap where we were under 32F at night.
Good question but we don’t really know if they are from the states- @GunnyBun you can go into settings and add your state, it can really help you when you need answers to lots of different questions. You don’t have to put in your city but you state/country/area would be great

Yeah. But @sourland mentioned a part of the original part that I missed- the chicks where chilled and often complained which leads me to believe that instead of to much heat maybe it was lack of heat? But why would this make them drop clear liquid from their vent

I had a pullet that had this happen as she died. I believe it may be just a possible part of death sometimes. Breaks my heart. I'm not an expert or anything by any means, but sharing my experience with my precious bird that passed.
