98.8 good enough?

My incubator temp is pretty sketchy and it's hard to get exact temps ( don't worry, my new Sportsman is in the mail

), and it seems the best I can do is around 98.8. Is that good enough?

Nope... if it has a fan, it needs to be 99.5, if no fan, then the temp reading on top of the eggs will need to be 101F

I'm wondering though how they upped humidity on day 18......

I have done a hatch before at 98.5 because the thermometer I was using turned out to be off. They hatched andywhere between 1 and 4 days late. All hatched but 2 and this was a shipped batch of eggs. It is possible if that is all you have to work with.

For a contact incubator that would be on the fringe.. Thus the Busts were working as a contact incubator. Raising the humidity can be easily raised... But we will leave that one alone

In a forced air incubator eggs will grow at anything over 90*F. At 90*F to about 97 will grow but not healthy. 97 to 103 will grow an hatch.
