when I had my Janoel 12 it was reliable never had to worry I sold it tempted to get another if decide to incubate then give them to the silkies

How is hatch rate calculated? I typically count those that are fertile (after candling on day 7).

For the hatch a long we use total hatch rate that counts the eggs set. The type you are using is called fertile hatch rate.

In that range, yeah, it's good. Just get thermo/hygro that you can calibrate with probes that you can stick in. I drilled a few small holes in the base to put them through. Put a folded towel under it and wrap a scarf around it for extra insulation. Or put it in a box?

Hmmm. LOL ok. I set a few older eggs from the Serama/Silkie just because why not? But that might affect my hatch rate, in that case!
