While we are waiting for these eggs to hurry up! Lol Any Silkie people in here? I'm wondering what color these are considered? These are my first silkies, and I need to sell them to make room! Thoughts?

I think "blue" although hard to tell from pix. Possibly a light partridge?

My eggs are hatching! about half are out at this point, and placed under my broody, along with HER eggs which should hatch tomorrow. It's crowded under there and she's got her wings all spread, but I tried putting some of the bator chicks into the brooder that is right next to her brooder box, but out of her sight, and she was craning her neck all over with wide eyes obviously wanting me to tell her where her chicks were! She could hear them and was looking for them! Too funny. I just thought it was getting crowded under her. She's got 9 eggs and 8 chicks under her now. The 8th chick, I just placed next to her, and she reached out her wing and scooped it up under.
:wee

Thanks for the guess, that's what I was thinking. Sounds like that broodie is really earning her keep! That's a lot of babies under there!
Set 27, down to 15 tonight, with 12 REALLY kickin and 3 that are questionable. Gonna be thrilled to move into lockdown tomorrow! :wee

That is exciting! I didn't even realize we were so close to hatch day haha I've been so swamped with the holidays and family, I totally spaced on when we go into lockdown! Lol And I need to get my grow out pen finished so I can clear out the brooder! Crap

I moved my lone turkey egg into the hatcher tonight. It is starting to dip the air cell a little and it was still moving as far as I could tell. I will have a few more to go into the hatcher about the time this one comes out, then more eggs go into the bator. Oh I added a heat sink to the hatcher to help stabilize the temps.... it's just a tuperware dish full of water with a lid ( no drowning ) but it apears to be helping
