I've got eggs locked down and due to hatch tomorrow. Fertility REALLY dropped off after I collected for the HAL. For this group, I set 36 but only 13 developed :/ Maybe the cold hit them before I collected them. It's 50° right now and expecting 55° tomorrow. The ducks are outside swimming away! It's so hard to believe that it was so bitter cold before and will be cold again after tomorrow.

Fertility should go back up now that the sun is out longer.

Hope they hatch for you! My furnace died on me & had extremely dry condition s due to Arctic blast & no furnace. My RCom incubator has temp & humidity control, but under extreme condition s it couldn't keep up. None of my guinea eggs made it, but two chicken eggs did.

Im sorry you lost most of them thats always a bummer!
But yay!! For the 2 little survivors!!

I was busting the ice off the top of their pool every morning (filled it with new water the night before knowing the hose would be frozen in thd am) anc those crazy ducks would
Swim in it snd play with the ice!!

Wow! My lil labresse hen that hatched out this summer has been hiding out in one of my wooden brooders. She's been laying eggs! I have three from the past three days. They are pretty good size. A bunch frozen! I thought she was a goner a long time ago. She must have been in the hayloft with my bantam rooster! Well hope to get one more today & I'll get the incubator up & running! Matilda the opposum woke up & ate the frozen eggs. Ugh! Love opposums, just not near my chicken s.
