A Bielefelder Thread !

Pics
I would be so easy to re-create the Welbars, I am surprised that a group of people have not re-create the breed and have them accepted,
I think since they looks so similar to Bielefelders with the exception of the size, there probably has not been a demand for it. I know they do have it in the UK.

well they have a generic look them(regular welsummers do too) but what makes them so cool in my eyes are their dark dark eggs, I dont think Bielefelders can lay as dark eggs,

The Bielefelder eggs my friend gives me are almost as dark as the Marans eggs, though not as "chocolate" in color.

Not bad, thats a nice dark brown egg, but not as Dark as Welsummers get
Those are my eggs that I gave fourpawsfarm. :) As you know from my past posts, pics of eggs are hard to do. We really need a color chart. I like Welsummers, too. But this is the Bielefelder thread. So GO Bielelfelder!! I knew we could make egg laying a sporting event. This week's match: Welsummers versus the incumbent Bielefelders.

Just a quick update on my week old bielefelder chicks. Several of them are already getting tail feathers. They have taken to the fermented feed with vigor and are quite busy picking in the pine shavings. They are rarely under the ecoglow. I did have to move it up to the second level, but it only took a few hours for one of them to figure out how to get on top of it.

They are really quite delightful and busy. It's been a lot of fun to watch them grow.
