TNBEARCHICK, in the long run, I got a better deal! The point I was trying to get across was : their upfront dishonesty. Trying to sell birds they didn't have. That is my opinion collaborated by others I have talked with. Instead of selling 5 to 8 week birds and delivering chicks, why not just say we have chicks for sale??

If I knew I was buying chicks I would have have no problem with GreenFireFarms. Once I finally got in contact with them, I got new chicks in a few days. Supposedly they were having problems with their internet provider. Jenny was always friendly and courteous.

Yes, I'm thankful they brought the different rare breeds to the USA! Do I trust them 7734 NO!

TNBEARCHICK, I'm not saying they haven't been good to me. They were quick with replacement chicks. I wasn't out $1,050 and no birds! They just haven't been honest.

Moving on! I hadn't been to rare breed auctions since I bought my Bielefeders. I didn't know the price had dropped so much on them. I accidentally bought another pair. They were about 6 weeks older than mine. The owner was very cooperative of my situation. I (my dad) was in process of building a pen. He delayed shipment for 3 or 4 weeks.

I have black sex links, rhode bars, buff orpingtons, and due to misfortunes down to 1 crestest creme legbar. I know the black sex links and rhodebars are laying. 3 or 4 days ago I put a game camera up close to running board on hen boxes. I checked it today. I screwed up! I set it too low. All I had was pictures of feet.

If your wondering why the game game camera, right now all the hens in the same pen. My dad is old and slow and gets side tracked often. he is much better shape than me. I have appointment with neurologist in the morning and my regular doctor. 5 days later. 6 months later and pen is only half built. Then st ill has to be divided.

Back to game camera. I wanted to have it up so I knew when the 1 Bielefeder hen started laying. The last 2 days each was 1 jumbo egg. From Buff Orpington or Bielefeder?

ElitePoultry got his 1st egg right at the 8 months. My birds are only 5 to 5 1/2 months old. Hatch date around March 4th on 1 pair and hatch date around March 14th on the others.

I got 2 jumbo eggs. I have no idea which breed laid them. 1 of the Bielefelder hens is trying out the next boxes.

The date is wrong on pictures. They are from Thursday 8-22-2013.

We have a some from a 2/21 hatch and some about a week or two later....no eggs yet. Just wanted to add that to the discussion.

I got 10 Bielefelder eggs along with 12 cream leg bar eggs going into incubator tonight. My cream leg bar hen is mated with Bielefelder roo. That is 1 hen each laying for 2 weeks.

A 2nd Bielefelder hen laid today. Yep, it was a small pullet egg. I know they say hatch rate is low on pullet eggs. I'm keeping it to try to hatch anyway. I got more eating eggs than I know what to do with. I give most of them to friends and family, besides the ones we eat.

I was happy to see 2 Bielefelder eggs today instead of just 1. Now if the other 4 or 5 will get with the program.
