Wow! That looks like a nice setup! And they do look very happy.
Are you refering to the side growth no their comb? It's the first breed I've had that has it.
It's hard to see but thats side growth on both sides of the comb. Pam
Wow! That's a really abnormal Bielefelder comb, for sure. If there was a SOP, this would be a cull. Bummer!
Total bummer!! He is a beauty in every other way. I don't know anyone else that has them and thought it was this breed. I have two young ones that came as packing peanuts from Greenfire farms. Hopefully they won't have it. Pam

Wow! That's a lot of foraging fried chicken on the hoof! Are you raising for meat or eggs or both? DH and I are such softies towards chickens we switched to eating turkey not to feel like cannibals - haha! Nice roomy area/setup you have for your girls!Couldn't resist posting a photo
Sylve, I'm raising for both meat and eggs. Yea, I'll have some heavy culling to do. I'm giving the Bieles a try for this. I'm really hoping they work out. And thanks for the compliment on the setup. 
Pam, do you know which import the peanuts are?
They are 2013. I wonder if the person who asked the question has them from 2013 and if this is a gentic trait in this line. Pam
