A bit about me and my flock.

In May I started a new backyard flock with six chicks, three buff orpington and three Ameracaunas. My small dog thought that was one too many and pulled one of the buffs from the pen! We fixed that with chicken wire. So we now have five. We love finding little oval presents left in the nesting boxes each day and sharing them with family and friends.

In addition to the chickens I also enjoy horseback riding, reading, baking, and mahjong. I'm a retired school teacher who lives in a rural suburban area of San Luis Obispo County in California.

You need to replace the chicken wire with hardware cloth. I found out the hard way earlier in the year. Other than that, hi and welcome home to BYC. Enjoy your flock.
