A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Well took quite awhile, but have chiseled enough ice off the parking area that my car now moves (it turned itself sideways yesterday so I abandoned it and stayed home). I may go to work tomorrow :).

Cleaning the barn brought it's own brand of hilarity today. The birds are completed unimpressed with the snow and haven't set foot outside since the ice/snow hit. I shoved them out the pop door so that I could muck out the barn and the looks that I got....

I learned today that you can fit 8 chickens and a turkey in 2 square feet of ground space given the right conditions (ie. white stuff everywhere else)

Look at that rooster comb! All mine got winter dubbed this year, despite my efforts, so I'm very jealous of that pretty comb right now. Except Jake Jr, he didn't get a winter dub.

My Cream Legbars froze their combs including the hen. The rose comb and pea comb hybrids did fine as did the Welsummers. Even the Welsummer with his big comb wasn't harmed at all. I forgot the White Leghorns didn't get their huge combs harmed either.

I'm surprised that none of mine are dealing with any frostbite issues this year. Almost every year, all my roosters get dubbed. So far this year, everyone's points are still intact.

Didn't have the chance to get the camera out today but did get some pics. I had a hard time with the whole Biosecurity thing with these girls... But since they're from Ralphies I'm not worried at all.

Eck.... Would have been better to separate them for awhile, but loos like they are all together now.

Ethel the 3rd looks happy with the chickens. Ethel Jr looks pretty as always is she staying away from the other birds, or just the way it looks.

Has Mr T noticed them?

They are all getting along except Ethel JR can get a little sassy with the chickens at times lol. Mr. T has noticed them! That's the only reason I let them out is because he was gobbling at them. He has tried getting Ethel JR to lay down but she wasn't in the mood.

I think he is broken. His old hen Mabel was chasing around the duck and Mr. T full on attacked her for it! He always attacks her when she is mean to the duck! That is the main reason that duck is still here... I couldn't break his heart and get rid of her...
