A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

If I can get him to strut and stand still so I can get a pic. My tom I have in the royal palm pen has a big double beard.

I had another tom in there but this one was strutting and I saw the double so he's getting the honors this spring.

But I have seen the beard trimming behavior from a bourbon hen in the adjacent pen. If he struts next to fence where she can reach it she nibbles some off. Guess she likes well groomed.
Exciting,if you get a picture I am looking forward to seeing it.

These crazy little turkey poults are serious strutters! Every time I reach in there, they start taking turns strutting lol. I have a good feeling about this group. I'm pretty certain that Adam's replacement is in there :)

Was talking and laughing with the DW last night. When I snuck the RPs into the brooder I made it a little over a week before my son let the cat out of the bag. She was telling him how weird the NEW chicks looked, that's when he told her they were Turkeys

During baking, I use 2 turkey eggs for every 3 chicken eggs called for

No,turkey eggs are considerably larger.
The chicken egg pictured is easily 3 times the normal size

That is her first egg, hopefully the rest will be larger. This egg is slightly smaller than one of my leghorn's eggs. Clearly neither a maran or leghorn egg as its identical to yours on the right.

Here's a pic of them...

The brown is Maran and the whites are leghorn... Then there's the speckle...
