A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I have the cabinet fired up.

I don't like the hatching tray in the bottom. Does it have to be in there while I incubate eggs. Or can I take it out?

Not sure if it out would effect the temp distribution or air flow.

Has anyone with the gqf cabinets removed theirs?

GQF recommends that the hatching tray be removed while incubating. If you don't intend to use the cabinet incubator as a hatcher, there is no reason to have the hatching tray in there at any time.

You are correct about the nuttiness of the Master of this thread.

The simplest turkey nest that I use is either a pallet or a wide piece of panel leaned against a wall.

Our resident architect @memphis just redesigned her nest for her Bourbon Red hen. She paid attention to such things as turning radius so she can give you her dimensions for a turkey nest.

ohhhhh, well I dont have any other red hens or any other turkey hens either

interesting to know

So what messages is he sending bright red or white?

Thank you!!

Bright red is extremely aroused and ready to impress or fight. Not sure what blue or white mean and have seen combinations of all 3 colors at the same time. My Sweetgrass tom is the only one I have seen that has shown all white or all blue but I have seen lots of toms that go completely red.

I think in mine when the head goes all white they are really excited or really mad. I never trust them when the head is white.

I had one with a white head walking towards and alongside of me tonight and giving me stink eye.. I explained to him what happens to a Tom that should do something stupid this close to Easter.

Mine has a spot for the hatching tray but didn't come with one since I guess the lady that had it before me lost it so I never run it with it in.

Romeo is the only one I've ever seen with a white/blue head but it's never seemed to indicate aggression
