A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Sabrina went broody. I watched her lay for about a week, but not leave the nest. After 8 eggs, she was serious. Since she is now a lone turkey I had three choices. Break her (HA HA! She would kill me!), call my local turkey dealer for some fertile eggs (too embarrassed by the mess my property has become, and I can't really handle too many more birds at this time), or...
Ralphie, cover your eyes!!
Give her two Pekin eggs.

You know I have a huge stack of turkey eggs just sitting on the table right now, begging to incubated right? Lol

You know you are the local dealer that I can't let see my mess, right?

All of the above.
I'm sorry for your troubles. I'm having a bout of the stuff also. I was able to get some corrid at tractor Supply. If you go to their website, push "check availability" it will tell you WHERE they have it in stock. I don't treat my birds until I start losing adult birds frequently. I know some people would disagree, but it's the only way to build resistance into the flock. I have noticed that the Saipan seem to be immune. And the hybrids are close.

It seems to hit the pure breeds the hardest. I don't think I will have as many problems once I get the new enclosure built. Its on very high well drained ground. My outbreaks coincide with lots of rain. Parts of the current pen hold water and of course the chickens drink from it rather than the CLEAN water

2 more died last night but 3 sick ones now seem to be making a recovery. I'll have the medication for future use. It is painful when you know what could fix it but you can't get the stuff in time. I'm just glad that I know what it is now. Ir use to be just the "Mystery Disease".
