A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Snakes bug me a lot worse than rats.

Snake would go around my Coop.

If your all's rats are the size of squirrels don't know if that snake could handle one big.

You might be surprised by how big a snake can get its mouth open. They can unhinge their jaws to accommodate over size bites. I personally saw a black rat snake of that size with a large fox squirrel half way down.

I tried a bucket trap made of a garbage can when I had rats....No rat was dumb enough to make the jump..

I had a half dozen mice in the can.. I emptied the coop of chickens and feed them the poison blocks "free will feeding" I would throw 5 in a day until they stopped disappearing. All rats died...

Then I took Holm's suggestion and got 2 cats. I feed them once in a while, they basically fend for themselves... No, I am not starving your cats Holm...*

They have cleaned out every mouse and rat around the place. I saw OC (orange Cat) lying in wait for a chipmunk yesterday. I saw GC (Gray Cat) in the weeds and jumped on a field mouse...

I love my cats. They are not pets and not really friendly. They are work cats that earn their keep, plus...

As far as the snake goes, his head should be removed from his slimy ugly gross body ASAP!!

Put me in the kill the snake column.

* I give them milk every day or two and I have some cheap food they hate out there for them, but they prefer mice, so they hunt.

JR I'm with you. Not really allergic--but just don't like em. I have a cat living on my deck, came from my former son-in-law... When he went packing, he left the cat behind. I just couldn't bring myself to leaving it to fend for itself in Virginia, so I brought it out here. It gets cheap feed and extra treats when it brings me a mouse or chipmunk--but its terrified of the barn. ARG!:he

BTW It sounds like you got the best of the deal trading the SIL for a cat you hate...
