A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Kathy....ever catch that hen with the poop issue?
Not bad out this evening....only in the high 80's. Took the opportunity to clean the turkey pen.

Snitch is currently tailless.

JJ Jr. is losing feathers everywhere. I have no idea who is laying eggs where. I know they are. I wish they weren't.

I want my chickens to go into a molt yesterday. I have 2-3 that are molting but not the ones I want to molt.

I have a young teenage Blue that has eaten a "path" all the way around his one toe. I have no idea if he hurt it or a fly strike occurred or what.

He was not a happy turkey this evening he got to spend 45 minutes standing in the foot bath. I have a cage set up in a pan with 3 inches of water for foot injuries and baths. He thought it was beneath him to be forced to stand in water laced with soap and Epsom salts.

Feathers everywhere here! Nobody laying! Earliest molt for the girls yet. Chickens and turkeys. Wonder how they managed to sycranize their molts. Does the flock who hangs together, molt together?

Ooo! The elusive tailess turkey!! Did she already shed her tail?? I'm already seeing signs of an early molt here. Well, early for my girls who usually molt around October/November. And NOBODY is laying eggs!!

About a month ago, Swan came off her broody nest and started shedding feathers everywhere. I could tell all the places where she had been, because there would be huge piles of white feathers. I kept thinking a bird got killed!

I'm waiting now to see how many pin feathers she gets.

She is the only one here that's molting so far.
