I've got one turkey girl that keeps laying her eggs in the duck water pan. Yes, the pool with 3 inches of water in it is obviously the perfect choice.

I am blaming everything going wrong with our turkeys on Global warming. After all how can we expect anything to function normally after the extremely mild winter we just had...Or in my case still have.. BTW I have not had an egg yet.

I'm amazed at those who get a turkey to lay in a nest box... Mine totally ignore it and will take the straw out and make a nest where they want it. So I've surrendered and just give them the straw and leave it to them.

This is the result of a turkey being kept in too close proximity to a DUX....Please check your neighborhood. You will find a DUX within a mile or two of your girl.......Practice SSS on said DUX and the egg in the water problem will be solved.

My girls use their ADA designed boxes. After I constructed them I would carry them to it & set them in it. So they would get used to them. If I found one acting like they were trying to lay somewhere else I'd pick her up & install her in ther box. After a week or so, they where used to the boxes , began using them. I think they like 'em. They were designed to give them some privacy, but allow a view of the pen, and the turn around ratio is large enough to not interfere with their tails. I hate scruffy tails!!

I've been finding the random turkey egg in a puddle of water lately too. Goofy birds!

Ralph-my dux actualy lay in the nest boxes like good girls! NEVER in the water!
