A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

One of my co-owned dogs arrived yesterday. He'll be here a week. As he went sailing past the Turkey pen both girls almost jumped out of their feathers! They both started doing their "Geigercounter" clicking sounds. They sure do NOT like it when a new dog shows up!!

So our cold snap won't be lasting. Back to over 100 heat index. It was a nice break for the birds. The whole neighborhood is getting ready for our parade on the 4th. Believe me...the girls are inspecting all the flying flags & decorations. Went next door to help a neighbor hang some bunting. Girls came with. They both stood there watching. We got it hung, neighbor turned to the turkeys and asked them if it was straight. Geez. Every house gets a little flag planted on either side of their driveway. Boy that was cause for much conversation between the turkeys!

Your neighborhood has to be one of the neatest ones that I've ever heard of. Not only are you guys very festive but everyone welcomes your girls and loves them AND you're allowed to have them lol

Yeah...I'm lucky. It's real neighborhood. Folks socialize & we all know each other. They all get a kick out of the girls. Everyone walks their dogs in the evenings...and I walk my turkeys.

Hot, hot, hot....index going to be 110 tomorrow. Had to take one of Daisy's fan down to the bbq tonight. Shes not a happy bird! LOL!!

You realize that now we are all going to want to see some pictures of your neighborhood celebration. Driveway flags, bunting, parade. I can just imagine!

I'll post a picture. It's quite the scene.

Going to be a hot one. 106. Daisy is still under only one fan. One of my big kennel fans was recruited for the bbq last night & parade today. But Annie was the one standing at the gate to the pen complaining yesterday evening. Daisy had retired to her roost. I did go check her out. They are both usually on their roosts by 7:30 so it was odd she was up & fussing. Didn't detect anything wrong or weird with her. Guessing she was wanting that fan back too. Its frustrating when they exhibit unusual behavior & I can't figure out why. Then I have to remind myself...they are turkeys after all!!
