Has anyone been able to use the color calculator lately? I haven't tried on the computer but I keep getting this restricted message when I try to load and of Porter's pages on my phone.

I have decided that even though my silver snake is wilder than who'd of thought she makes a good broody..... she still doesn't seem ready to come off of the nest, but I "think" I counted 7 poults! That Was In Between Her Trying To Flog Me Thru The cage....... ug. I was going to open the crate and let them out if she was ready and one of the baby's got in trouble so as I was trying to put it back in with her it started in on the stranger danger scream at the top of its lungs...... mama was going to kill me to save it. Now we know why I don't have an exact count of poults when they started hatching 4 days ago.

Later today I will have it set up so that they have their own section so yes I will put them in there and leave the door open..... this is a first for both of us so we will see. I do not want my entire flock to be as wild as mama so I am not sure if I will leave them with her.....

According to Porter's Turkey Color Calculator, it is a Regal Blue Red Bronze Penciled which is more of a description than an actual color variety name.

They can never be made to breed true because of the 3 color genes that are heterozygous (Ccg, Dd, Rr). Having 3 different color genes that are heterozygous mean that in this case a mating can produce up to 24 different color varieties instead of the one color variety that is produced by a variety that breeds true.

R2elk answered for me they don't breed true but they're so pretty. Basically Franz Lehner's pencilled blue fallfire but with 1 copy of cg to darken them up and really make the color pop.
