A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Holy burrrr!!! It was 25 degrees at 5am this morning!! The cold is here!

High temp here was at 11:30 AM and has been dropping ever since. A cold front is moving in from the north and snow is expected shortly.

No no no! Too cold, and no way to the snow! I'm so not ready for cold :(

We are calling it Hot-tober. Been in the 90's. We are still spraying for mosquitoes. Thankfully its cooling off to the mid 70's at night. Humidity is low...so I'm not complaining. Much....

Apparently I have two friends that want to do something with all these feathers. Been collecting them. Have a box I walk around with to put them in. Been causing lots of interest with the flock. Set it on the ground & everyone stuck their beaks in it to investigate. Nosey girls...

Boy Daisy is starting to look great sporting her new feathers. And I think she knows it! I'll get pics once she's feathered out. Annie is several weeks behind. Still mostly quills. Daisy still wont let me touch her, but shes sitting on my chair arm or sitting next to me on the porch. I think shes starting to feel better. Shes been flying around alot. Annie is still a grump. Ran into a neighbor with a baby in a stroller. Daisy stood staring at the little guy. Annie was trying to steal the tires off the stroller.

Aurora....do you take your turkey saddles off the girls during molt?

No, not usually. I feel like they protect them from getting pecked at. I did take Sweet Pea's saddle off though so I could get a good picture lol. I didn't put it back on though because I feel like that would hurt. Another week or two and I'll be slipping it back on. Lil And Cynthia are going to need saddles on soon too!
