just thought I would drop these here...... some of my jan hatchlings

Tomorrow it will be 60. But by midnight it will be 22. Really? What the heck is with this weather??
The wind was coming from the west and the temperature got up to 47°F. Then the wind direction changed and is now coming from the north. The temperature is dropping (currently 30°F) and it has started snowing.

I'm not having a good week. Last night before bed, our furnace went out. Hubby was up most of the night trying to get it going but he couldn't get it. We've had a propane heater going in the living room all night :/ Unfortunately, this doesn't qualify as a good enough reason for MIL to go home, I tried :/

ETA: it's a grand total of 3° outside

Wow....if no heat doesnt root her out you need to go to plan B....the brooder in the bedroom. Sorry about the furnace. That's a bummer. You may have to hand out lappers to keep everyone warm until fixed.

Alicia....that's the most darling little bug eyed baby bird! Just made my day! Thanks!

Interesting about Porters contract R2elk. Things like that not uncommon in the dog world amongst those with a serious breeding program. Many wont sell an intact dog without some type of breeding requirements/restrictions. My first impression is that he's trying to seriously establish this variety.

Thanks all!
I would keep them mainly for meat actually, but I also would like for them to be able to reproduce.

Plan is to keep a trio- would that be a good combination long term? And for how long would they be able to produce poults? I am asking here because Iwould like to here from you guys that have first hand experience.

Phil98....your going to love having turkeys! Chickens pale in comparison. What state do you live in?? You may be close to one of our group breeding turkeys.

I am from Croatia, Europe! So, guess not close enough to any!:lol:

I def like turkeys and remeber Toms always staying right next to us following us everywhere!

Hey Phil...

Memphis did not finish this statement.. turkeys will stay in a run if the want too... if they do not they will sit on the deck.. the roof.. inspect the garden...rest on your truck or car... turkeys do what turkeys want... mainly they want to follow their peoples.

Guess I will be at carwash more often...
