Mama turkey started talking when I saw her last night so I felt sure she had new babies because all the rest of the times she just hissed at me.

I suspect that it was a raccoon that lost a leg in a dog proof coon trap. It looks like my window of opportunity is over because this is what was on the carcass this morning and I am positive that she is not the perp.
