A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

38? Wow! And Ketojenn is at 66. I agree....something is broke. Its 73 here.

Poults are still wild. It's the penciled. It gets all hysterical & it influences the mottled. They are even worried about Daisy. Daisy is being great. She just sits within their sight & talks a bit to them. She's such a good girl. If there ever was a turkey with common sense, it would be her. Its funny how she is insisting upon her evening walks. I'm finding her standing on the porch waiting each evening. She most certainly knows how to tell time.

Cause those walks make both of you feel better for them. :).

My lapper training subjects took a slight pause today. I got tired of having the rusty slate.... who is a Tom!!!

poke a hole in my hand while taking treats, so I wore gloves today while treating them.. it did not slow the chickens down, they did not seem to notice the gloves.

But the turkeys were leery. I got the evil eye and cocked head stare for the longest time. The smaller one a bronze something or another hen was the first to take a treat..she ate a fair amount. The rusty tom took a few quick bites but the gloves spooked him too much to be comfortable... my hands say wear gloves everyday..

Trauma is bad for your skin. Wear the gloves; they’ll get used to it if they’re the right sort of turkeys. Otherwise, p’raps it was never meant to be...

He will get use to it....If I really wanted to tame him fast, I would just lock him in a building or cage alone and be his only contact with the outside world or any other living thing.

JJ was a rusty slate and I would love to have a pet turkey like he was. BUT I am not going to abuse the turkey like JJ was abused by the people we got him from. JJ looked at us as his saviors I am sure.

He was kept under a deck in 2 ft of wet sloppy manure with a ton of other chickens, turkeys and ducks...

Inside one of the inner ring suburbs. This guy will tame down on his own....or I will eat him...
