He could take pictures of the mythical poultsWell....not sure Ralphie. Haven't met or talked to this guy yet. I will say that I'm maintaining the convent! If he wants to come meet Daisy, that ok...but he better not have a tom riding shotgun!

Ok I want to disclose that this Turkey thing is all you alls fault... at least in my house.View attachment 1810845 here is my youngest DD teaching her 4h Turkey to lead. Now just to clear things up, no it is not required for 4h turkeys to be on a leash at fair but after the kids see this boy sporting his neon pink harness next year there may be more leash trained turkeys....
so yesterday I found another brown poult on walkabout.. chasing a chicken who wanted nothing to do with its sibling much less it. Took it in the house. later she was off the nest and one poult was almost hatched and 2 were zipping. When I got back from firing up the incubator, the poult had hatched and she came back and went in the nest.I heard a hubbub and seen a bunch of poults looking through the shade cloth into another coop. ... between the cloth and a nest box. I was thinking of a chipmunk or similar. I found this
10' away is a turkey hen due to hatch on the 13th.... This is what happens when you let them set their own eggs.
I tried giving it to 3 different broody chickens and none would take it. Hopefully it's mom will when others hatch. ... I am afraid to give it to her now because it will go on a walkabout again
I will share your words of wisdom with her. So far he just kindof hangs out no real following going on yet but there is time.Alicia! Love it! Your DD & her turkey are terrific! Is the turkey walking on lead for her? Tell her that she should try & keep him on her left side like the traditional competition dog obedience position. Put some BOSS in her left pocket & give him one every so often. But only after he's done something positive, like walking by her side. That's how I trained Daisy to do the agility course...treating her to a seed after she did an obstacle. Gosh....my training side is kicking in! My girls are easy to train....tell your DD consistancy is the key! I just love this!!
