Hey guys! Thought I'd share some pics of my kids! Turkeys are my favorite animal, such awesome pets!

The 2 lilacs have odd faces because they're both partially blind, so the muscles in their eyes deteriorated.

She is disgusting looking. Her bottom feathers are gross, filthy dirty. She has the broody attitude and plays snake on the nest. When off the nest she chases the other birds away.

I might have to use her for coyote bait.

I filled a pool with water for my turkeys today. None of them went wading, let alone swimming.

I have 3 different 4 ft wide wading pools and 4 metal 16" x 4" feeder pans filled with water, along with two misters and a mister fan. All the turkeys get in the pools - only they believe one tom per soak at any given moment. A lot of chest-bumping each other out.

However, if a hen gets in one of the pools, the toms all congregate at the other end of the run. Don't mess with a female!

Next summer I am getting much larger pools!

Flash....is it really your Birthday? Have a happy one! Ironically its mine too. Just got mobbed by my turkeys wanting attention. Best Birthday moment so far. Coonhound has gas....thanks a lot dude!
Happy Birthday, Memphis! It is a hectic week around here. My daughter's bday is the 5th, my sister's bday is the 6th, and then mine on the 7th.

I received several nice gifts - but this is the best one.

My brother in law built a 4 section brooder condo coop for me about a month ago. I have doors on 3 right now - with the top one open from one end to the other - but with a moveable divider.

This week - he is building a room around it - and attached to my house on the back porch. Should be finished (mostly) by tomorrow. It has windows, a place for AC, power and 6 receptacles, insulated walls, and a tin roof. He's also moving my security cameras so I can see my chicken shed and other pens/runs - and adding another spotlight.

It's awesome!

Flash...once a turkey figures out a wading pool it's hard to keep them out of one. It's kind of funny to look out & see your birds all standing around soaking their big ole feet. The pools sure help when our heat index is 110. Daisy has been trying to sneak into the house. I finally let her into the kitchen for a few minutes. Only to find her standing the dogs water bowl. Gotta love a turkey

My hens love their wading pool too! I've never seen my tom use it but I never see him not showing off.
