A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Your welcome

And I thought 21 days was long.

Thank you!
The "trick" to making it seem faster is to set a new batch every week, that way you always have eggs hatching every week, so the time seems less.

At least I've found that works for me

I just candled the first batch of turkey eggs (Midget Whites, 10 days old). 12 of 15 are developing, 3 were infertile.

Haha, I might need to use that trick in the future... :D

When do you first see development in turkey eggs?

I have not had time to post. I have read the posts at night.

I asked erlibrd to tell you I was alive still. I did not think I would have time to post.

We are traveling with Grandkids and their parents. Time becomes hetic and confusing with them. There is a reason young people have kids and not us oldsters.

We are in Memphis heading to Bass Pro shop as soon as DIL and kids are ready. St Louis and the Polar express is the goal tonight.

The last few days in Montgomery went fast. The Air Force kept the pace up for us, along with the kids.

I am so Missing JJ and Ethel. I hope they are dping ok without me. I expect to be bawled out for a good hour by Ethel when we get home.

It is only a mater of days before Anne decides she likes the view from the roof of vehicles. I hate mine for being on my vehicles, but they do not seem to listen to me about staying down. It is a water throwing zone, much as my wife thinks the deck is. The turkeys leave but I wonder how much the water really bothers them after seeing the turkey in the pool.

Taylor Swift is out! I was looking at this all wrong. I have found a new woman. She is the heir to the laureli perfume fortune and has a net worth of 35 billion! Take that Taylor!!!!

On the plus side the age difference works out way better in my favor. She is currently 92. I love more mature women..

My GPS tried to kill us last night. It took us to parts of Memphis civilized people should not go into. I am not a city person so those areas were culture shock to me. No one should live in them. I think they need a BIG bulldozer. ( Sorry Memphis).

I find it amazing you guys are getting eggs already. I am hoping to get NPIP certifiction so I can ship birds this spring. Time will tell if that happens. It appears I need to save 4 eggs for MM again.

SOmeone asked about tips on shiped eggs, The only one I can think of is do not be in a hurry to put them in the incubator. let them sit and relax after being shaken up in the mail. I have read 24 hours, What is another day. ALso make sure you get them from someone you know is giving you fresh eggs. You only have 10-14 days from the time they are laid to get a good hatch rate. So if they sit for 8 days before shipping, time is running out.

TTYL or when i get home..

BTW, I have managed to find some great bars down here!

PS. (edit) Graceland is a rip off!!
