The Recessive Slate toms are as big as the Blue Slate hen already. They aren't as heavy but are as tall and as broad. They aren't even 3 months old yet.

Two, only half of them are mine. Fortunately it is very easy to bring in new blood simply by adding heritage bronze hens.

They are much smaller and are the same age as the Slates. They look to be darker than my current Sweetgrass.

Yes, most of my breeding stock from Porters Sweetgrass are darker. Some were very dark in color. Still have a few of the original real dark hens. I have kept some lighter ones this year to add in. Pic of a dark older hen and a pic of the new lighter ones I kept to add in next spring.
