A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Understanding the ‘turkeys hate fences and all behind them’ statement I got here a few days ago.
Two of my toms have been buddy-buddy for a while now, go everywhere together and harass other birds together, hardly ever seen them apart.
Today, when I visited my birds, Jack(black tom)got stuck on one side of the metal gate, the royal palm on the other. I let them back together, and they started fighting. Previously, Jack has been top of the pecking order for months. This didn’t actually change, and even though it did look like the royal palm(Max) would win their fight, it ended with Jack chasing him around the yard.

The one with its back to the camera is not a Royal Palm.

Probably, is the proper term a calico because of the orange? He was sold as a royal palm, and has always been referred to one by my family, so i’ve gotten used to calling him that. Sorry for my mislabeling!
Some hatcheries Royal Palms do have that reddish/brown in their feathering, and they do sell them as Royal Palms. A true Royal Palm will only be pure white with black trim and tail band.

It is a Tri-color of some sort. It may be a Calico if it has a red gene. If it doesn't have a red gene it might be a Sweetgrass. The only difference between a Sweetgrass and a Royal Palm (colors) genetically is the Narragansett color gene.

Any bear 🐻 sightings?
Just claw marks, mostly. And lots of night time barking at 2 am, and me going out and seeing nothing and getting tons of doggy kisses, I go inside, half hour later more barking. I heard that maybe this bear made the news, he's getting too close to suburban neighborhoods so he will get removed if we don't shoot him first.
