Had a very nice day today here and was able to clean/sanitize all my summer waterers, removed all heated waterers. 4 broody hens so far with a 5th almost fully committed. The past week was monsoon rains, terribly wet here so I have waited to set hatching eggs under them. Things have dried up some so will set good hatching eggs under them tomorrow.

Sounds like there will be babies soon! I can't wait to see all the poult pics.

It sleeted/snowed/rained last 2 days here. I made bean soup and mostly didn't bother going outside except to feed and water all the animals.

Yesterday morning started raining, turned to snow, melted, snowed more and quit at midnight. Overall got about 4" of heavy, wet snowball snow. It's snowing again now.

Set turkey eggs this evening.

Is bean soup the same thing as what we call soup beans? Just slow cooked pinto beans with a piece of salt pork or ham?

Here is the evidence my Narragansett tom is carrying cg. The silver edged feathers. The Narragansett hen carries it also and both carry BWB.

Here is the royal palm poult that they produced. It's getting the black markings.

Couldn't imagine still getting snow. It's been sunny and warm here. My kid is excited about seeing the eclipse.

Little Ruger, another Narragansett gobbler. I thought for sure this one was a jenny by the narrow triangular shape of its head. But it gobbled today.

Grizzled black painted from my friend. And a marbled slate jake beside her. Someone is a snood picker as a couple have had bloody snoods.

Fried turkey breast. Also fried some hickory chickens my son and husband found.
