A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I agree with Memphis, Adam is probably a bit faded from sun. I know my bourbon boys are way lighter than they used to be! I hope they molt one of these days - they'll be so pretty and dark again :)

I don't know how people survive these temperatures - I am freezing my *** off. It's -21 today and I did NOT bring enough clothing to be out in this!! I know I used to live here, but man, this is nasty. Moving furniture today to clear out the apartment, the rest of the estate should be able to be dealt with from afar. Going home tomorrow night, and hopefully without any frostbitten parts

DH says baby peeper is still doing well, likes to sit on his shoulder and sleep while he plays video games. My peeper will be thoroughly used to living the "bachelor life" lol.

Adam may just have faded red feathers. Annie's feathers are much darker. The sun will fade the red color. I've always thought Adam was a hunk! Aurors, post that glamour shot again. Ralphie, you do need eggs!

Holmes, I'm assuming you Tom is a cross....but so handsome!!

Not yet, but I will when they can be safely shipped to this arctic clime I live in..

I'm playing with the calculator now. I wonder if he could be a Bourbon buff?

Hey Feisty! Sorry your freezing. But sounds like Peeps is doing great! Sounds like your DH & Peeps have completely bonded! Love it!! You definitely have to post pictures of the boys! It's been forever!

Aurora...Bourbon Buff?

Feisty sounds icky over there!! Yep that chick is gonna have the same charicteristics! I cant wait to see peep grow!! Hope its a girl!! If its a boy will u keep it??

Like I said, I was playing with the calculator. That wad one of the things that pppped up. That picture is the example from Porter's calculator. I'm having a hard time thinking that his feathers have been faded in the sun since he was only 6 months old when I got him and he spent a lot of time penned up since.

Huh...this could get interesting. Can't wait to hear the Porter comments.

Feisty. ...will you keep Peeps? Even if it's a roo? Peeps may be on her/his way to being a house chicken! ;)

I forgot to mention, I went shopping on Amazon this morning.

I have 3 thermometers in my incubator, not including the worthless one that came with it. They all read different numbers. So I went looking for a "certified" thermometer.

I found one for $19.95. It is used to monitor a woman fertility cycle. It will be a pain to use, but I only plan to use it enough to note the errors on my other thermometers.

Have I mentioned how much my DW hates me going to Amazon?

This is the thermometer of choice used by the lab where I last worked. It can be calibrated and is very accurate. I use it to check all the other thermometers and controllers that I use. Mine was calibrated to 100°F by a lab tech friend. They are currently on sale for $19.

Well I think Peeps is destined to be a house chicken until it at least has full feathers - then we'll see whether or not it's ready to go outside. Probably by the time I've lived with it for awhile - I'll be too attached for it to leave, so it probably won't matter if it's a roo :)

Ralph - I know the feeling about Amazon, my DH cringes everytime he sees the Amazon boxes showing up at the house lol.

I don't know, my bourbons were really dark at first and are faded a fair bit. They're younger than Adam is. He's such a beautiful color though!
