You have to look at it from a couple sides.

You gave them a much better life than they would have had in a factory farm... You are providing your family with pure drug and medication free meat.. You are participating in the circle of life, something must die for us to survive. Even a cabbage values its life.

Make sure you thank him for his gift or nourishment to you and your family and to the joy he brought to you.

He had lots of good days followed by one bad day. You did your best...


If it ever gets easy what would it say about you as a person? For me, I hope it never gets easy.

And Yukon Jack will help dull your pain.

I absolutely agree with what you said. I don't think it will ever be easy for me, but hope to be able to make the decisions as needed. Yukon Jack would not help me much....but rum probably would

I think Daisy will do most of the obstacles. I don't think I can get her to run through the tunnel. And I don't think she can jump through the tire. But we'll just see what a turkey can learn. She's willing...that's the first step.

It's okay if I consume the booze and DH wields the axe though right? I'm not sure DH would let me handle the axe even without the alcohol....I'm not known for handling sharp edges well
