A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

All my birds are from Porters, the mottled ones are second generation crosses from my mix, first generation were plain brown. The original breeds were blue, black, sweetgrass, and bourbon. I see I left out a few there's also a blue palm hen, a bronze hen that was suppose to be blue red bronze and my dark brown hen. I have 15, I think.

I originally got poults from Porters in 2010, then I started hatching a few every year, last year I ordered hatching eggs from Porters, I have been eyeballing eggs again by I'm at my limit, so I'm at a standstill

I love your mottleds! If you want to part with some eggs I would love to have them!

I should clarify, my three older toms are staying, and if it doesn't get too bad the young ones can stay, that young sweetgrass Tom is acting too full of himself lately for my tastes, he may become my husband's tastes, but so far it's just a threat.

There is a limit?

How will I know? Will my Wife be the one telling me when I hit it?

If I trade her in can I increase the limit?

I have room for around a million! I have been making breeding coops and pens like a mad man..... There better not be a limit... Of course, the other person living in this house is not as reasonable as I am.

I am going to be thinning Toms soon. (I have been saying that for 3 months now) But I really am. As soon as I get the breeding pairs I want sorted out and locked into pens/coops. The others will be visiting freezer Camp for a while. Unless someone buys them.

We live on 40 acres, so technically there's no a physical limit, for me there's a mental limit, I find turkeys to be like keeping a pen full of hyper 5 year old children, I do let mine out to free range but after a bit they stop ranging and start being pains, they hop the fences, they chase the chickens, they get on the barn roof, they get on the shed roof, they drive me bananas.

Since I'm the wife in my situation I can do what I want and my husband is helpless to stop me, he can't say anything or we will have a talk about his hunting and fishing. So you as the husband are at the mercy of your wife's desires. Make your wife happy and you can have as many turkeys as you want.
