A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Aurora - So stinking cute!!!! Thank you, I needed some cute pictures

Coffee - welcome back! How're your little roos doing?? We would love to see some pics of the boys.

Well I may have found a good home for one of my Bourbon dudes! I've been checking CL and today there was an ad looking urgently for a young bourbon red tom. It was a long shot (the person lives a few hours away), but I sent them a picture of one of the boys in full strut and let them know where I am. It was a young lady who is interested in breeding him and he wouldn't be someone's dinner. It sounds like she'd be willing to drive up here to get him, but it may take a week or so..... Fingers crossed that this pans out. I think he'd love a chance to run with some ladies of his own :)

Fiesty...I'll keep my fingers crossed that works out for him!

Aurora. ..cuteness overload! They all look great! Those poults were all over that basket. So turkey-ish! Nosey little buggers! I still think they need toys for mental simulation!

Now I'm really bummed - DH just texted that Peepers didn't make it. Got herself stuck somewhere during the day while he was at work

That was going to be my bright spot this week....no more babies at our place for a little bit.

Think I'll just enjoy everyone else's baby pics for the next while

Sounds like there should be some coming soon.

Aurora, my goodness you are about to have BABIES everywhere! And I think you may be right that Adam is a Bourbon Buff - can't wait to see what Porter says.
ohh nooo.. Sorry about Peepers.. was hoping for the best...

Im still reading..

Morning folks! Happy Saturday! Sunny & warm here....looking forward to gardening with the girls.

Coffee...you owe us pictures of your babies!

I'm going to try & get some good shots of a molting Daisy! She's pretty pathetic looking! Poor girl.

Lifted from another thread.

Right click on image and click on open link in new tab.  Try and figure out what variety these turkeys are.

Interesting, I am just trying to learn this stuff.

I am guessing it is a cross between a red and a slate with maybe a little Narragansett thrown in.

I am guessing it has a Dd. Rr and who knows what else. It is some kind of barring..

Not much of a guess from me. BTW I did not ask on the genetics site even!!!

As I look again, I am wondering if that is even a American turkey. There is barring and feather tips are painted ..

Tell me, tell me, tell me. I like the looks but I like all turkeys ..:gig
