I have one more weird thing to report. When it was decided Mr T would not be able to make it here this year, I put the other Blue I had in with the 3 girls. ( I had 4 for Mr T)
I moved the blue red Bourbon out and gave her to JJ.

Anyways this blue had spent a week walking around the outside of the girls trying to impress them. It is the same blue that did not go into the pen the night I videoed them all going it. He likes his girls!

You would think this would mean mating like crazy. It does not. The Blue is kind of a pervert. He has 3 girls, instead of finding one of them, he goes into an empty cubicle and pleasures himself! I have no idea what I am going to do, I do not think he has mated once, his girls eggs are most likely worthless!

Any Ideas? Maybe buy him a subscription to Hen House, or Play Tom... Idiot birds!

Just give him a little time. He should come around.

On another note, I got my first turkey egg of the year. It was from the hen that will turn one this year. She somehow crawled into a chicken nest box and laid her egg there. For the first time this year I had a broken chicken egg in a nest box yesterday. I now believe that it was the turkey that broke that egg.

I just candled my hatch for the 27th. the eggs have been in 14 days now. They are all clear. I am guessing none of them were fertile! Which is what I wanted.

I left them in for a few more days and will look again. Do you think I would have seen blood vessels today?

This means I have several dozen turkey eggs to eat.

Ralph, neither of my turkey girls have gone broody....yet.But I've had chicken hens get goofy before going broody.

Annie is still laying in the chickens nest box. Go figure.

I had 2 in the chicken nest yesterday! I made them their own nest but they prefer the chicken nests. They look weird in the nest. The back half of their bodies are hanging out of the box.
