A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Alright this little bronze turklet got out of the brooder and came into the front room and after walking around letting everyone know he was there and ready to watch some TV jumped up onto the couch then up an arm to get up high and slid under the covers and took a nap

That is absolutely adorable! Love it!

Is a breasted bronze a huge turkey, that can barely walk? Cause I could get some but I don't want a huge turkey. Anybody have experience with them? And how are they on laying and broodiness

Do you mean a BBB Big breasted Bronze? The type Tyson raises?

You will have your challenges with them. I would think withholding feed and free ranging would help. I doubt they would ever breed naturally. I have no idea on the broodiness or laying.

My hen is a BBB she is pretty big but can run around and fly up on the roosts just like everyone else. I dont restrict feed. She is on 18% protien layer mash with a high protien cattle feed as a treat everyday.

I like my narragessett hen not to sure if I spelled that right but o well she is probably about the size of a wild turkey hen I just weighed her before I wormed her and she was 12 pounds and something and she had tape worms so she could have put on a few pounds
