Ralph - How many did you hatch this year (so far)?

After all the evening chores, we'll usually sit out with the birds while they run around for awhile. Big Bird has been so funny lately, she's a little bit clingy since her bud Coco is in solitary getting over her broody. She'd rather sit with us, have us feed her dandelion leaves and be petted than run around with the chickens. Spoiled turkey

Ralph - How many did you hatch this year (so far)?

About 250 CLB's

120 Guineas counting 50 for next 2 days.

200 Turkeys ( all sold except 4 that the mad hen has with her)

About 150 EE I should run another batch of them I have more people wanting them and I need some, I do not have one left!

200-250 BA's I have a handful left *maybe 20*

I must have hatched 150 Speckled Sussex I have maybe 10 left, I have people asking for them still, but with Lizzie kind of broody. You can tell she is royalty, she sits on the nest when she wants and only with a full crop.
I hope I have 15 hens and a couple roosters for myself, but I doubt it.

I think I hatched 6-7 partridge chanticlers I think they are all roosters I have not sold one yet, they have been disappointing. the eggs are seldom fertile. I still love the bird, I just must be doing something wrong,

I hatched 11 Dominiques. My breeding stock for next year.

I hatch 3 buckeyes I sold them 3 was not enough to monkey with. I have breeders coming this fall.

I have the porter eggs to hatch next week.

I have 2 turkey hens on turkey eggs. I have Lizzie on Guineas, I have one PC with 14 keets, I have Ethel with 8 keets, I have the mad hen with 2 BA's, and the other hen with 4 poults..

You add it up, I am thinking a tad over 1,000.

I have new stock coming for next year, Sliver duckwing Yokohama's, silver laced polish, well summers and the buckeyes....

I'm really curious to know about how many @dheltzel hatched this year. About 200 of the chicks I hatched were because he sent me eggs lol. I can't imagine how many he hatched!

The 19 poults that i have in my small brooder go to their new home today. None too soon either. They are totally outgrowing their space and even with a grate on top, 2 of them keep escaping. At least they've learned not to go anywhere. They're constantly just napping right on the edge lol. Horrible picture but my tablet camera is awful. You still get the point.

LOL, this weekend's hatch should put me a little over 4000 for 2016 !!
Yikes, I think I need to cut back, but there are so many neat eggs sitting here to be incubated.

The rough breakdown:
over 1000 blue egg black sexlinks
over 1000 cream legbars
over 300 welsummers
nearly 300 BBS ameraucanas
about 170 turkeys
3 ducks
1 peafowl (Sweet Pea - my project is to make this one a pet)

Not all those were sold of course. Many were males and culled at hatch. Lots of others are in pens at the farm growing out for an expanded laying flock.
I still have about 2 dozen 5 month old turkeys to sell or process too.

Ive got 92 that will be going into lockdown in 8days.to date ive hatched around 200 hybrids ive put half of them on the camp freezer bus

JR I knew you had hatched a lot of meaties, I never knew it was that many. I think I only hatched around a dozen of them. BUT I have the "Triple R-SC" full of skinny roosters waiting to get on the bus...
