finally got everyone wrangled and after I took measurements / weights , I tried to snag photos of the new babies.

Well Wisconsin put some lovely weather up for me . Heading home tomorrow night - boy do I miss the birds! Poor DH, called him to remind him to feed and water and collect eggs - he's not used to doing the chores lol. He'll probably be glad I'm heading home to take the barn work back!

I've been recommended it by the couple who sold us our poults, we've had great results with our hens bouncing back from a baaaaaaaaaaaaad moult with the stuff so I don't *think* it'd be detrimental, but does anyone have personal experience?

I had 8 born around Sept 22 and I found one dead 2 days ago and today another is down and I think it will die soon.
This is my third batch and none have lived past 3 months.
I am in Panama and my neighbors keep telling me you cant raise Pavo's here.
Are they that difficult?

What kinds of turkey are you trying to raise? Some breeds are much more delicate than others. Certain heritage breeds can be much more hardy than the broad breasted varieties.

It should be fine. I routinely use Red Cell (for horses) for my poults, 1 tsp per gallon. I mix this and give as their sole source of water for at least the first 2 weeks, sometimes longer. They do great. I use it for my chickens, too. It is more economical than poultry cell if you have a lot of birds.

No they are not that difficult so it sounds like you have something in the soil there that they are susceptible to. Do you have a local agricultural center that you could ask?
Can you keep them alive inside, not on dirt, but on wire or clean wood shavings? I don't put my poults outside on the ground until at least 4 weeks old. If you can keep them alive inside and then they die once put outside on the ground, that points to something in the environment. Coccidia and another protozoan, Histomonas (causing blackhead disease) and both soil organisms known to cause death in turkeys.
