Congratulations on raising a BBW for 6 years! That is no small feat.

I am going to relate to my experience with CX rooster a year old. I assume they are the same.

The first thing you need to do is steel yourself and prepare for failure.. 6 years is 12 life times for a BBW. I have never heard of one that old before.

My CX was old at a year. They are not "designed" to live that long. It does not take much on the older LARGE birds to hurt their feet and ankles. They have over worked their hearts just surviving, circulation is not great in the extremities.

It sounds like you have done all you can. Keep the feet/wound clean and try to keep him from jumping or further injuring them. I have not clipped the toe nails on mine, but I would not be afraid to if they were too long. I doubt they are causing him walking problems, but they could be. I think it is just a senior turkey problem. I do not walk and get around on my feet as well as I did 60 years ago either.

I had a 6 month old BBB that had leg problems and I had to harvest him a few weeks early because of it. Please let us know what happens. You are in uncharted waters. I think, we will all need to learn from you.
 
I have a bunch in there right now but just because I'm testing them all. I have the one that came with my hovabator which is my most reliable. I have an acurite thermometer/hygrometer in there that's mostly accurate. I have a didgital thermometer/hygrometer that I picked up at a cigar shop. The thermometer on it is messed up but the hygrometer is good. I'm not sure the brand. And last but not least, a digital acurite with a sensor that stays in the incubator and a small monitor on the outside for me to read. It's off by about 4° though :/ at least I know how much it's off by. I also use a didgital thermometer (the kind you stick under your tongue for a fever) to stick through the vent holes and check temps here and there to make sure it's all good.
