A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

That's a great shot Ralph! I love watching mine just be turkeys.

Is that Ginger or Porter having a serious discussion with a hen?

That is Ginger so intent on impressing the hen. I cannot pick Porter out on the photo. The colors on him are so subtle I have to look really hard to see them.

BTW I just found out Ginger is going on the Porter page, for sure.

Which is good for Ginger. I also got some bad news for Ginger. He has "small" eyes. They said on Porters it is a condition that can come with the DD gene. double slated. Kevin Porter advised against breeding him because of the eye condition.

So Ginger and 7 other Toms have been listed for sale on the Minnesota Farm facebook page. I have suggested they would make great Freezer Camp Counselors....

I just went out and put a red band on Sidekick, so he did not accidentally get sold. He was not happy about it. He acted like a belly button, even though he is a tolerant. He cried when I held him, then hissed at me. Kicked his legs when I put the band on him. When I let him down he ran to JJ to tell JJ what a belly button I was. Not very grateful for a bird that just got the ultimate pardon. We discussed eating him and decided JJ needed his best Buddy more than we needed to eat Sidekick./

Small eyes. Huh. That's an interesting bit of information.

Your selling only toms? No hens? Is Porter staying?

I'm afraid to ask...Penguin?

I'm sure that was a hard decision to make. But like you said, why keep them if they can't further your breeding program. Are you still considering a Bourbon Red and an RP?

I will sell all the toms, Except Sidekick and JJ.

That includes Penguin, Porter and Ginger. There is just so many Toms I can keep. I wish I could afford and had the room to keep them all, but I do not.

No hens are on the auction block but I would sell a self blue or blue if someone asked.

Another hen laying! Wow. You'll have that incubator full in no time!

Have you eaten one yet?

We have not eaten one yet but I think we will. Now that I know they're from Pebbles, I know they're fertile so I don't need to check lol. I hope it doesn't take long to find out who else is laying. I'm thinking it may possibly be Sweet Pea or maybe Eve but I'm not sure. I'll just have to wait and catch her in the act.

When I run the calculator with JJ and Ethel and Ethel Jr, I get a chance at a bourbon red. So I am laying that on them. I would like a Royal Palm but Holm is slow selling he a pair of them.

Aurora has Adam x Pebbles eggs. They will produce Red Bronze. (Which is gorgeous ) I ran the calculator with a Red Bronze hen to JJ. Ton of colors possible. Just bringing that up as an option for another bloodline. Plus Adam is quite nice! 22 pounds at six month is a lot'a bird! :D

Maybe Holm would trade for some of yours. I didn't see any blue in his flock. You could always throw in a Creamette or two!

I love Holm's multicolored tom. He's handsome.

I can't remember if I ever got around to posting pics of Griffin on this thread. If not, here they are! If so, ah well, you don't mind seeing him again
